Building Sand is a pit sand, also known as Mason, or Bricklayer's Sand is a finer grade sand with smaller particles often used for building or filling. It's often mixed with water and cement to make mortar for laying bricks/blocks. Some manufactures bother to take the time to screen the sand but usually this sand is taken straight from the deposit site. This sand also has no chemicals mixed into it. We recommend processed building sand rather than any old building sand. Sand is an essential component when it comes to mixing mortars, which means trade quality building sand is absolutely crucial as part of the initial construction stage.
